PHS Downlight Hood

PHS Downlight Hoods are a simple solution to heat loss through recessed lighting and are a safe and easy way to install an airtight sealing system for downlights. They dramatically reduce the volume of air leakage through each downlight, therefore significantly reducing draughts and heat loss. They also ensure the maintenance of an effective moisture barrier. Downlights or recessed lights are the source of a high proportion of air leakage in the home. Gaps in ceiling insulation dramatically reduces its overall performance, typically insulation performance is reduced by 50% if only 5% of the ceiling area is not fully insulated.
PHS Downlight Hoods house each recessed light in an airtight seal without disrupting your homes thermal envelope and airtightness barrier. The downlight hood is easily fitted and sealed to an airtight membrane or plasterboard using  PHS Argo Plus (Multi-Tape) or PHS Ottello airtightness sealant. PHS Downlight Hoods restore the airtightness performance of a ceiling to a similar level as an unpenetrated ceiling, and facilitate the insulation to be continuous and uninterrupted over the entire area of the ceiling - saving energy, carbon emissions and cost.
